Forward Deployed Engineer – Data , Barbados (12 months)

The Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer – Data & Deployment at Amini you’ll be embedded with our customers to help tackle some of the most urgent and complex problems facing our planet today. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, mission-driven team of Engineers, Product Designers, and Deployment Strategists to bridge the gap between raw data, real-world workflows, and impactful outcomes. Your mission is to synthesize fragmented information—technical, strategic, and operational—into clear solutions: understanding the data, defining the need, shaping the product, and scaling the impact.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll immerse yourself in our customers' workflows, data, and challenges—owning the deployment lifecycle from problem discovery to production. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating directly with customer teams to understand their mission-critical questions and operational pain points
• Identifying and evaluating high-value datasets through deep engagement with field problems and user workflows
• Building, refining, and maintaining stable, scalable data pipelines with fellow Engineers
• Customizing product workflows and data integrations for diverse user groups
• Delivering hands-on onboarding and training sessions to ensure tools are being used effectively and driving measurable outcomes
• Presenting findings, demos, and future proposals to stakeholders—from analysts to executive decision-makers
• Translating insights from the field into product recommendations by closely working with our Software Engineering and Product teams
• Creating and delivering impactful demos for new and existing customers
• Scoping and shaping new engagement opportunities across industries and geographies where Amini’s solutions can scale

What We’re Looking For

• Strong technical background, ideally inComputer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
• Proven experience insolutions architecture, technical consulting, or deployment engineering
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such asPython, SQL, R, or Matlab
• Experience working directly withdata ingestion, transformation, and workflow design
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor technical content to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Deep curiosity and strong analytical instincts—willing to dig into complex data and explore beyond the surface
• Empathetic and user-focused mindset, with a genuine drive to solve problems that matter
• Low ego and collaborative attitude: focused on impact, not personal credit
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-changing environments and make sense of open-ended challenges
• Adaptable, reflective, and eager to learn, mentor, and grow in a fast-paced mission-driven setting
