Department Overview
407 ETR's Information Technology division is responsible for the infrastructure and software to enable the efficient operation of the highway---including toll capture, account management, financials, and data storage/analytics---as well as customer services including call-center, web, IVR and supporting workflows.
At 407, all developers meet weekly to briefly hear updates from management, then break off into multiple learning streams. Topics include Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce and Data Science. Some weeks, the streams are very hands-on (i.e. getting AWS.CLI up and running, playing with Kubernetes, learning Python). The developer led topics range from a learning above a wide variety of topics (i.e. Cloud, Best Practices in Java, Data Streaming, SalesForce, Data Science...)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide, configuration, administration, and maintenance for 407 ETR applications while proactively collaborating with cross-functional teams
Oversee, advise and coordinate functional aspects and testing of system integrations between various platforms (e.g. Salesforce) to ensure seamless interoperability
Serve as the subject matter expert and advisor for specialized applications like custom build and configurations on Salesforce and CTI
Implement best practices and drive the knowledge management processes by creating and maintaining support documentation, providing training to team members, and ensuring that best practices are shared across the organization
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent years of experience).
[2+] years of relevant work experience on Salesforce Service Cloud or related products
Technical skills: Proficiency in various software and systems, data modeling, and technical writing
Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills for identifying problems, conducting analysis, and developing solutions
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues and find solutions to complex problems
Business acumen: Understanding of business processes and objectives to ensure solutions align with business needs
About 407 ETR
Highway 407 ETR is an all-electronic open-access toll highway located in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. The highway spans 108 kilometres from Burlington in the west to Pickering in the east.
407 International Inc. is the sole shareholder of 407 ETR and is owned by:
Cintra Global S.E. which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ferrovial S.A. (48.29%);
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and other institutional investors (44.20%); and
Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) (7.51%)
