Why Sony Interactive Entertainment?

Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

Build what’s next for players.

We’re a startup inside Sony PlayStation. Fast-moving, experimental, and highly ambitious. Backed by the scale, resources, and trust of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

We’re building new mobile and web experiences that help gamers connect, discover, and play together in better ways. This is a rare opportunity to design at startup speed and drive huge impact inside the largest gaming company in the world.

If you thrive in zero to one environments, love shaping product direction (not just polishing screens), and care deeply about craft, systems, and the user experience - we want to talk.

Responsibilities
  • Own UX, from the brand, to design systems, and complete end-to-end user journey.

  • Solely responsible to lead design within a fast-moving cross-functional team.

  • Take ideas from concept through launch across mobile and web experiences.

  • Translate complex technical and platform constraints into intuitive, performant user experiences.

  • Define interaction models, navigation patterns, and scalable UI frameworks.

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap and feature strategy.

  • Contribute to and evolve design systems and standards.

  • Facilitate critiques and drive high-quality design execution.

  • Present and communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders.

  • Balance innovation with usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency.

Requirements
  • BA/BS in Interaction or Product Design, Human Factors, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience designing consumer product experiences (mobile-first strongly preferred).

  • A portfolio that showcases thoughtful, simple, deliberate & intuitive design, with extraordinary interaction, motion, and visuals.

  • Experience shipping robust designs across mobile and web.

  • Strong systems thinking and interaction design skills.

  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, technically complex fast-moving environments.

  • Experience shaping product direction in close partnership with Product and Engineering.

  • High level of proficiency with Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, tokens, animation, plugins, etc.

  • Clear, concise communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong product intuition, with the ability to balance speed, experimentation, and long-term quality.

Bonus
  • Demonstrated history of leading products from early concept through successful launch at scale.

  • Deep knowledge of player behaviors, gaming culture, and industry trends.

  • Proven ability to design scalable, localized experiences for diverse international markets.

  • Experience designing social, community, or network-driven products.

  • Experience as a founding or first designer on a team.

  • Strong experimentation mindset (A/B testing, metrics-informed iteration).
