Job Summary
This role will assist with the financial control and reporting of strategic business and financial information to management.
This role will partner and liaise with various business partners and stakeholders associated with the Capital Markets lines of businesses (e.g. Central Funding, New York Branch) to analyze financial information and key business transactions.
This individual will drive change by assisting with special projects and transformation initiatives and add value through identification of efficiency gains and evolving current processes.
Job Description
What will you do?
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting processes through journal entry booking and disclosure template submissions.
- Assist with the design and preparation of commentary packages and financial analysis by business line for consumption by senior management.
- Assist with special projects where required and respond to ad-hoc inquiries and requests for financial information and analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline current processes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline
- Currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program and eligible to complete a work term starting in January
- Excellent MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
- Able to work effectively and reliably under pressure
Nice-to-have
- Previous experience working in a financial reporting environment
- Experience or understanding of financial analysis and financial reporting
- Experience with automation tools

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
