Account Executive for Utilities - Job Description

WHO WE WANT:
We're currently looking for a mid-market Account Executive with 5+ years of experience in the Utility construction market looking to make a career change into Construction Tech sales. The following things should sound like you.
You've shown success in your construction career.
You are a proven estimator OR project manager OR general superintendent OR field engineer in the electrical transmission & distribution, gas transmission & distribution, municipal water/sanitary/storm, solar & wind, or oil & gas pipeline construction industry. You've played key roles within your construction company's business development, preconstruction, project management, field operations, or service and warranty departments with bonus points for candidates with experience across multiple departments and are looking for a new challenge.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preconstruction/Estimating experience
You've identified strategic customers and accounts, you've successfully qualified your company to compete for business, you've prepared competitive estimates and budgets for construction projects, you've coordinated proposal efforts across multiple company departments, and you've pitched and won work based on company values and criteria far beyond low price. You are familiar with multiple contracting methods, project delivery methodologies, and quantity takeoff technologies. Salesforce or MS Dynamics-type CRM experience would be a bonus.
Project Management or Field Operations experience
You've worked as a project manager or field engineer in the utility construction space for multiple years across multiple projects. You run very organized projects and meetings with rock solid documentation across contracts & POs, submittals, RFIs, plans/as-builts, change order tracking, billings & payments. You keep tight control of budget, quantities, and schedule and are rarely caught offguard. Even under stressful conditions, you maintain good and respectful relationships with your customer and their reps, design consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
General Superintendent experience
You've worked as a general superintendent managing and mentoring multiple foreman or crew leads across multiple projects. Your experience allows you to quickly analyze short and long term challenges across your people and projects and prioritize your time, attention, and action accordingly. Your owner or management team completely trusts you to keep your (their) projects on track and bring them home on time, on budget, and at a level of quality and craftsmanship for which your company is known.
Requirements:

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
In this role as an Account Executive, you are joining a collaborative, solutions-based sales team and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact. These are what your responsibilities will look like:
• Network with prospective customers, run sales cycles, and close new deals
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers
• Communicate the value of our software and services to customers effectively
• Lead virtual demonstrations of our products to prospective customers
• Meet and beat assigned sales targets & quotas
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and customers
• Display strong communication skills with operational and c-suite executives
• Remain in regular contact with customers to understand and meet their needs
• Respond to complaints and resolve issues to the customer's satisfaction to maintain our company's quality standards
• Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data in Salesforce
• BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
