Job Description:
The Account Executive must contribute to the continued growth and profitability of Sun Life's Group Benefits Division through the effective marketing of our benefits plans. In addition to sales duties, the Account Executive works with a team of non-sales professionals (underwriters, customer service representatives) to provide after-sales services to customers. and advisors and support the annual renewal of their plans with Sun Life.
As part of your role, you will work closely with a team of customer service representatives, regional underwriters, regional customer service center staff, operations staff and management staff. The Account Executive must carry out its responsibilities in accordance with Sun Life Canada's integrity and compliance requirements.
What will you do :
Achieve assigned growth and profitability targets
Work as a team with underwriters to obtain acceptable rates from closed contracts
Work as a team with customer service representatives to maintain good relations with the advisor
Have advisors consider Sun Life Canada as one of their top two choices among small business benefit plan insurers
Provide advisors with the necessary training so that they can sign contracts with new customers and renew contracts with existing customers
Provide timely and informative market commentary to management to enable management to respond to market demands
Attend and contribute to meetings from time to time to communicate and receive information from internal and external sources
Actively seek new advisors who meet the standards.
What do you need to succeed :
Prior experience in a similar role with a focus on growth
Prior experience with small business plan pricing
Good understanding of small businesses, their structure, activities and functioning
Specific requirements :
Valid driver's license
Hold a representative's certificate in group insurance of persons recognized by the AMF
Industry recognized professional designation such as FLMI, CEBS, ACS or other.
Preferred skills
Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide
University or college diploma
Very good understanding of the importance of the role of advisors in the group benefits model
Demonstrated ability to recruit new advisors
Excellent relationship building skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team and assume a leadership role in order to achieve targeted objectives
Good understanding of small business benefit plans
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes and personal desktop or laptop computers
Adequate knowledge of Internet Explorer
Demonstrated skills for success
with new customers and renew contracts with existing customers
Provide timely and informative market commentary to management to enable management to respond to market demands
Attend and contribute to meetings from time to time to communicate and receive information from internal and external sources
Actively seek new advisors who meet the standards.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
