Analytics Engineer, Enterprise Data

See It. Build It. Own it.

Sangoma is a global leader in business communications, delivering cloud-based solutions that help organizations connect, collaborate, and engage with their customers. Our portfolio includes Unified Communications (UCaaS), Contact Center (CCaaS), VoIP, SIP Trunking, Managed Connectivity, and Customer Experience solutions serving businesses worldwide.

Data is becoming one of Sangoma's most strategic assets — and how leaders see that data is what turns it into decisions. As we modernize our enterprise platform, you will own the analytics and visualization layer that puts trusted, timely insight in front of executives and business teams across the company. We're assembling a small, high-caliber team to build an enterprise decision-intelligence capability from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity to define how Sangoma sees and acts on its data. You won't inherit a wall of legacy dashboards. You'll design the ones that leaders actually use. Working across Finance, Operations, Product, and Engineering, you'll turn complex data into clear, reliable analytics that the business trusts — building both the datasets underneath and the dashboards on top.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Designing and building executive and operational dashboards that leaders rely on to make decisions daily.
  • Building and shaping the analytics datasets behind those dashboards — writing the SQL, modeling the data, and preparing it so every view is fast, accurate, and consistent.
  • Turning complex, cross-functional data into clear, intuitive, trustworthy visual analytics.
  • Partnering with executives and business teams to understand the real questions behind their requests and deliver views that answer them.
  • Establishing standards for dashboard design, data modeling, storytelling, and self-service analytics across the company.
  • Ensuring the numbers behind every view are accurate, governed, and consistent — one source of truth, visualized.
  • Helping shape how Sangoma delivers analytics as the enterprise data platform matures.

Requirements

Your Background:
You are a visualization and analytics specialist who loves turning messy, complex data into dashboards people actually use — and you build the data layer that feeds them yourself. You care as much about clarity and how a decision-maker consumes information as about the accuracy of the data underneath. You're comfortable working directly with business and executive stakeholders to find the real question and build the view that answers it.

You bring experience with:

  • Tableau — advanced dashboard design, performance optimization, and best practices (required)
  • Strong SQL — writing complex queries to shape, transform, and validate data for analytics (required)
  • Data modeling for analytics — star schemas and well-structured, performant reporting datasets (required)
  • Python — for data preparation, transformation, and automating recurring analytics work
  • Translating business questions into clear, self-service dashboards
  • A strong eye for visual design, data storytelling, and executive-ready presentation
  • Attention to data accuracy, consistency, and governance in reporting

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

  • Cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or equivalent
  • ERP and CRM platforms such as NetSuite and Salesforce
  • Working with modern data platforms / lakehouse environments
  • dbt or similar transformation and orchestration tools

Benefits

What We Offer:

    • Extended Healthcare Plan (Medical, Disability, Dental & Vision)
    • RPP - Group RRSP
    • Group Life - AD&D - Critical Illness Insurance
    • Paid Time Off Benefits
    • Work From Home - Flexible hours
    • Entrepreneurial work environment partnered with high growth career opportunities.

Are you ready to make a direct impact on the company and be rewarded for your performance?  Are you ready to take on a new challenge?

Equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
