The Analyst is the most junior role on the Public & Government Affairs (PGA) Monitoring Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality parliamentary and policy monitoring, research, and client service. This role focuses on tracking and synthesizing developments in Ottawa—including parliamentary activity, committees, and government announcements—while building foundational skills in public affairs and strategic communications.
Key ResponsibilitiesParliamentary & Policy Monitoring
Monitor daily activity across Parliament, including House proceedings, committees, and Senate activity
Track and summarize relevant government announcements, legislation, and regulatory developments
Compile and distribute timely monitoring reports, alerts, and summaries for clients
Identify and flag emerging issues, policy shifts, and political developments of relevance
Research & Insights
Conduct research on policy issues, government stakeholders, and political landscapes
Support the development of background briefs, stakeholder profiles, and situational analyses
Assist in synthesizing complex political and policy information into clear, concise insights
Client Support
Assist team members with day-to-day client deliverables and requests
Contribute to the preparation of client-ready materials (e.g., summaries, decks, trackers)
Maintain organized records of monitoring outputs, research, and client materials
Project Support
Provide support on small projects and ad hoc assignments as needed
Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
Take direction from senior team members while proactively managing assigned tasks
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to synthesize complex political and policy information clearly and concisely
Interest in Canadian politics, public policy, and government processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint)
Familiarity with parliamentary processes or monitoring tools is an asset
Curious and engaged with political and policy developments in Canada
Proactive and reliable team player
Strong judgment in identifying relevant developments and implications
Eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced public affairs environment
