Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

After over a decade of building the market-leading BNPL network—serving 20M customers, driving $35B in annual GMV, and partnering with 300k merchants—Affirm is focused on its next ambitious chapter: transforming DTC shopping. At the center of this vision is our Marketplace, a fast-growing platform that operates with the agility of a start-up while leveraging the scale of an industry leader. We’re seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented leader to shape this pivotal growth engine.

As a Marketplace Analytics Manager, you’ll play a critical role in optimizing offer performance, driving user engagement, and delivering both merchant value and profitability. Success requires balancing operational precision with strategic foresight in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This high-impact role offers the chance to collaborate across Product, Revenue, Marketing, and Credit teams while driving actionable insights and measurable improvements. If you’re passionate about building at the intersection of data, technology, and commerce—and thrive in shaping the future—this is your opportunity to leave a lasting mark at Affirm.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day decisions about which offers are surfaced to users, ensuring alignment with goals for engagement, GMV, conversion, and profitability, while building towards automation at scale.

  • Develop and apply frameworks to prioritize competing merchant offers, including key seasonal promotions and high-visibility placements.

  • Monitor marketplace performance metrics and adjust strategies based on indicators such as user engagement, relevance, merchant outcomes and customer LTV.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key Marketplace KPIs and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Partner with Sales, Client Success and Marketing teams to grow Affirm’s network of marketplace partners and drive increased value to merchant partners.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance the use of ranking algorithms and offer-matching tools.

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that test and refine new placement opportunities or optimize marketplace performance.

  • Conduct loan-level profitability analyses to ensure offers and placements align with credit and financial performance goals, balancing consumer and merchant value.

  • Analyze customer lifetime value (LTV) and customer acquisition costs (CAC) to evaluate the profitability of different user segments and inform offer placement strategies.

  • Evaluate affiliate portfolio performance by integrating network data, identifying trends, and assessing the incremental impact of merchant-funded incentives on overall marketplace profitability.

What We Look For

  • 7+ years in analytics; direct experience in analytics for marketplace businesses or platforms, with familiarity in affiliate models, offer prioritization and ranking algorithms strongly preferred.

  • Experience with data tools such as SQL, Python, and affiliate platforms (e.g., Affluent, Nucleus); Comfortable managing ETLs and working with engineering teams to optimize data pipelines.

  • Deep understanding of the intersection of user experience, merchant outcomes, and profitability, with the ability to make tradeoffs that maximize overall marketplace value.

  • Knowledge of backend search systems and relevance optimization is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to work with large datasets and perform complex analyses, including LTV/CAC evaluations, profitability assessments, and KPI tracking.

  • Ability to align detailed operational work with broader business objectives.

  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with technical and business teams to rapidly test, learn and deliver business objectives in a fast paced growth organization.

  • Track record of driving results amidst competing priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
