Observation, reflection, and practice teaching in the primary/junior division classrooms as identified by the regulations of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Ontario College of Teachers; associate teacher provides mentoring and feedback as well as formative and summative evaluations of teacher candidates.
Dates: Sept 1 - April 30, 2027
In Teacher Education, Hybrid means that all courses include ten in-person sessions offered on campus at the University of Ottawa (30 in-person instructional hours) and two online course modules, delivered through Brightspace, which provide the equivalent of 6 instructional hours.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in education;

  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario;

  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level;

  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers.

The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
