Noda is a data and analytics company for the commercial built environment. We reimagine how modern buildings operate — because a better world needs better buildings. Better buildings are more efficient, more sustainable, and more resilient. They are intelligent, autonomous ecosystems that anticipate and adapt, seamlessly.

With commercial building operations accounting for nearly 30% of global emissions, we’re on a mission to turn buildings into a force for positive change, powering a more efficient, more sustainable world. We do this with smart software, careful use of modern artificial intelligence, sophisticated data models, and custom interfaces to building systems – and a lot of in-depth knowledge about how commercial buildings actually run.

We’re a young, nimble company where we very much value creative thinking, a love of team work, and a determination to solve the problem, whatever it is. Priorities can shift fast, so adaptability and flexibility come with the territory. The consequence is that you’ll have a chance to make a real impact, backed by a supportive team.

About the Role

We are looking for a curious, driven recent graduate to join Noda’s Automation team — a new and growing function within our Product department. This team sits at the intersection of building science and data science, with a dual mission: identifying opportunities to embed AI into Noda’s product to create new value for customers, and building intelligent internal tools that help our teams work smarter.

This is an exciting entry-level opportunity with real ownership from day one. On the product side, you’ll help identify where AI can unlock new capabilities and open entirely new use cases for building owners and operators. On the operational side, you’ll help discover and eliminate workflow friction inside Noda itself, building tools that make our engineering, customer success, sales, and operations teams more effective.

You will report directly to the Director of AI & Product Innovation and gain hands-on exposure to the full product development lifecycle — from discovery and research through prototyping and delivery. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to grow into a product or technical leadership role at a fast-moving climate-tech startup.

What you’ll be doing

  • Explore and evaluate opportunities to apply AI and automation within Noda’s product — identifying where new capabilities could unlock value for building owners, operators, and sustainability teams.

  • Build prototypes and proofs-of-concept for new product features, validating ideas quickly and generating the technical evidence needed to move into full development.

  • Contribute to product requirements documents for new AI-powered features, working closely with the broader Product team to translate prototypes into well-defined specifications.

  • Conduct structured interviews and collect feedback from customers and internal teams to deeply understand current workflows, pain points, and unmet needs.

  • Build requirements documents for internal tooling, translating business needs into clear technical specifications.

  • Develop and maintain AI-powered internal tools that help Noda’s teams — engineering, customer success, sales, and operations — work more efficiently.

  • Provide hands-on support to internal teams as they adopt and integrate tools into their day-to-day work.

  • Stay current on developments in AI, large language models, autonomous agents, and data science, and actively evaluate how emerging capabilities apply to Noda’s product and operations.

  • Conduct applied research into new automation and AI approaches relevant to the building technology and commercial real estate sectors.

What you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

  • Hands-on experience building software — whether through coursework, internships, personal projects, or research. We care more about what you’ve built than where you built it.

  • Programming ability in Python; exposure to JavaScript a plus.

  • Experience in the built environment, with HVAC equipment, and building automation data.

  • Genuine curiosity about AI, large language models, and autonomous agents — you follow the space, you’ve experimented with the tools, and you have ideas about where it’s going.

  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing — you can ask good questions, listen carefully, and translate what you hear into a structured document.

  • Analytical mindset: comfortable with data, able to identify patterns, and willing to back up recommendations with evidence.

  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-moving startup environment where you’ll wear multiple hats.

What will make you stand out

  • Any exposure to the commercial real estate, energy management, or building automation sectors (coursework, internship, or personal interest counts).

  • Experience building or experimenting with AI agents, LLM-powered tools, or automation scripts — even as side projects.

  • Prior experience conducting user interviews, usability tests, or requirements gathering in any context.

  • A portfolio, GitHub, or examples of things you’ve built that you’re proud of.

  • Familiarity with SQL, data pipelines, or analytics tooling.

Why we think you’ll love it here

  • Huge responsibility and fascinating challenges – you’ll be joining us early on in our journey, with plenty of autonomy and room to develop your role.

  • Joining a fast-growing team of brilliant people building solutions at the forefront of smart building technology!

We offer a great work environment, a clear development path, and many tangible benefits, here just a handful:

  • Healthcare cover, including vision, dental.

  • Critical Illness Cover & Life Insurance Policy

  • Accidental Death, Dismemberment and Specific Loss

  • Long Term Disability Cover

  • Pension - Registered Retirement Savings Plan

  • Enhanced paternity, maternity and adoption leave.

  • Competitive salary and equity participation.

  • Highly flexible and autonomous working.

  • Paid personal development days.

  • Annual paid volunteer day to help out a charity of your choice

At Noda, we value diverse perspectives and believe great ideas come from people of all backgrounds. —we’d love to hear from you!
