Who you are
The Backend Software Developer possesses good knowledge of coding best practices and can build and maintain complex microservices' architecture. They have the ability to collaborate with a team and influence it to create a quality product. The startup environment makes it essential for the Software Developer to work well in a fast-paced environment which requires great time management to be able to meet deadlines. We are looking for someone comfortable with change, organized, and committed to the success of the company.
What you will do- Analyze, design, and implement features.
- Write well-designed and efficient code, which can be tested & perform units and/or integrated tests.
- Correct anomalies and problems as they arise.
- Test the implemented features to make sure all acceptance criteria are met
- Participate in projects from the initial idea to launch.
- Advise the product owner on technological choices and decisions concerning developments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development activities (agility, automated tests, deployment, etc.).
- Collaborate with the security team to integrate security best practices into software development processes.
- Communicate risks associated with any activity, technology, or processes as you identify them
Must Haves
- A strong alignment with our core values (high velocity company experience preferred)
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining production applications using Java with Spring Boot or Kotlin.
- 4+ years' experience in DB Systems: SQL, MongoDB, NoSQL
- Comfortable working autonomously with modern AI tools and automation, using LLMs and developer workflows to improve personal productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
Nice to Haves
- Experience designing, scaling, or optimizing high-performance systems in production environments.
- Strong preference for candidates with Kafka experience
- Preference is for candidates resident in Quebec
- Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience
- Experience with Cybersecurity
- Bi-lingual in English and French
