Bilingual Business Analyst, Finance & Accounting System Transformation (100% remote)

Join our dynamic team specializing in DB pension and benefits plans as an IT Business Analyst. Your expertise will help design high-value technological solutions for a strategic finance systems transformation, replacing our current accounting system with a modern, enterprise-grade solution. This is a medium to long-term project that will significantly enhance our product offerings for both internal operations and client implementations.
Working in an Agile SAFe environment, you'll collaborate closely with Product Owners and development teams to transform complex business needs into concrete technological solutions. Your expertise in finance and accounting systems will be essential as you conduct comprehensive needs analysis, lead solution design, and guide the transition from our current system to a more advanced platform.

What you’ll do

• Gather and synthesize business needs into detailed functional specifications

• Participates in the high-level design solution and estimation process

• Designs the solution for the software product in line with solution architecture and technical roadmap

• Work closely with the development team to define the functional specifications and system modifications required to meet objectives (including non-functional requirements)

• Provide technical support and leadership in the event of escalation of incidents or service interruptions to ensure that they are resolved effectively Designs intuitive solutions that add value to users

• Has the ability to break down development items into small increments that benefit users in collaboration with Software Product Owner (SPO)

• Has the ability to produce documentation for user community (such as release notes)

• Ability to document designs within allotted timeframes

• Works with Developers and QA to ensure that the detailed design is fully understood, and the development initiatives are in line with design

• Collaborate with developers and QA specialists to ensure the detailed design is well understood, developments align with the design, and quality deliverables are achieved

What you bring

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Computer science, Management, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or equivalent)

• 5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis

• 3+ years of direct and sustained collaboration experience with software development teams, including demonstrated ability to communicate in technical terms, translate business requirements into actionable specifications for developers, and ensure rigorous follow-up throughout the development lifecycle

• Fluency in both French and English, verbal and written

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent ability for synthesis and great ease in understanding, systematizing, and popularizing technical concepts

• Demonstrated experience in configuring, integrating, or supporting enterprise-grade financial accounting platforms 

• Ability to understand and use common computer technologies

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is considered an asset

• Holding an accounting designation is considered an asset
