The Harris Poll Canada (formerly Maru/Blue) is seeking a Business Development Manager working in a close-knit team that lead the way in tech-driven market insights through innovative, cost-effective research solutions. In this role you will drive sales success by being at the forefront of growing our client base by closing deals and exceeding targets. The team is seeking someone who thrives in a fast moving, entrepreneurial setting and who understands the importance one person can have on a small team.

This role would suit someone that enjoys proactively prospecting new leads, selling solutions and engaging and building strong relationships with clients. This is a hybrid role, working at least two days each week from our Toronto office and you need to be available to travel from time to time. 

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively prospect and lead effective client research to Identify and create qualified sales opportunities.
  • Sell Solutions, confidently sell our cutting-edge research solutions and technology
  • Build a strong and continuously growing pipeline by leveraging tools like Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Close Deals: Convert opportunities to new business to deliver against your sales targets.
  • Deliver engaging sales presentations and write compelling prospecting emails
  • Engage Clients by developing strong relationships and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle, and hereafter to ensure repeat business
  • Provide an excellent first impression of The Harris Poll by recognizing the need for urgency and consistent follow up
  • Available to travel for work 

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Sales, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3-5 years proven sales experience of driving new business and achieving targets
  • Strong communicator, proven ability to deliver engaging sales presentations and write compelling prospecting emails
  • Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude, driven, and comfortable using a range of channels and tools incusing social channels to connect with potential prospects
  • Strong organizational Skills and ability to stay focused, manage multiple tasks, and complete admin tasks efficiently
