Wisedocs is on a mission to make it easy and accessible for any company in the insurance, legal and medical space to understand medical documents quickly using AI (Artificial Intelligence). Every week, we process hundreds of thousands of pages of documents, saving our customers hours and hours of manual processing time, and helping them process medical claims much more quickly.

About the Role

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Wisedocs, you'll be a key player in our growth, directly impacting our mission by identifying and connecting with new customers.

This role is a launchpad for a motivated professional who thrives on challenge and building relationships. You'll use your communication and problem-solving skills to uncover customer needs and create new business opportunities that drive our expansion.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: 3 days in-office)

Travel Requirement: Periodic travel to the U.S. for events and conferences 

 What you'll be doing 

  • Market Research & Prospecting: Identify untapped markets, industries, and channels to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Lead Generation: Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through outbound efforts including phone calls, social selling, and email outreach.
  • Customer Engagement: Research, connect, and qualify prospective customers via phone, email, social media, networking, and in-person interactions.
  • Event Participation: Represent Wisedocs at national and U.S.-based conferences, trade shows, and other industry events.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment between lead generation efforts and overall sales strategy.
  • Other Duties: Support additional business development initiatives as assigned.

You're a great candidate if 

  • You have ~2 years in business development within a SaaS sales organization.
  • Background in Independent Medical Examinations (IME), Insurance, or Law is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with sales tools such as HubSpot, SalesLoft, and ZoomInfo
  • Comfortable engaging with prospects at in-person events and traveling nationally as required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication, with proven ability to build rapport and foster strong relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, proactive problem-solver, and self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Personable, confident in cold outreach, and enthusiastic about driving growth.
