Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team at Metergy Solutions. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, specifically focusing on Azure, Databricks, resource provisioning, and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies and a passion for driving innovation and efficiency in our cloud operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Azure Management: Oversee and manage Azure cloud services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. 
  • Databricks Administration: Implement and manage Databricks environments, including cluster management, performance tuning, and integration with other data services. 
  • Resource Provisioning: Develop and maintain automated processes for resource provisioning, ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of cloud resources. 
  • Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager, ensuring consistency and repeatability in deployments. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. 
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure and applications, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs. 
  • Security: Ensure cloud environments are secure and compliant with industry standards and best practices. 
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on Azure and Databricks
  • Proficiency in Azure Cloud, Databricks, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues across various departments
  • Certifications in Azure Cloud is a huge plus!
