This position is designed to provide you with real work experience and an opportunity to help you get to know us better & learn from you.

Take part in product development as you work closely with a cross-functional team supporting Biscuits & Snacks. You will be exposed to highly automated production lines, food processing and materials manufacturing. Products you work on will be sold in the market and on grocery store shelves across the continent.

LENGTH OF TERM: 12 months
LOCATION: Toronto, ON
AVAILABLE POSITIONS: 2 positions available
***Office work space is located in a nut-containing area of the facility***
***All piercings must be removable for work in processing facilities***
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Bench-top prototyping/formula development to support various new product, productivity and quality initiatives
  • Support and occasionally lead projects for new product and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Understand customer requirements and communicate with suppliers and cross-functional team members on a regular basis
  • Provide support at trials to test new product formulations in manufacturing plants primarily in the Toronto area
  • Day-to-day management of shelf life and sensory evaluation studies
  • Completion of raw material specification sheets and data collection as needed to validate ingredient/product legality for sale in Canada
  • Co-ordinate departmental and cross functional meetings
  • Other related duties


Qualifications:

  • Preferred discipline: Food Science, Engineering and related majors across the physical and biological sciences.
  • Enrollment in a co-op university program
  • Strong personal leadership as demonstrated by consistent initiative, flexibility and dependability
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people and execute effectively on both independent projects and as a team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is beneficial
