Job DescriptionOBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
The Commercial Finance Business Partner is a senior hands-on driver of commercial finance, connecting technical financial detail to business performance, risk, opportunity, and strategic prioritization across a broader or more complex scope.
This role works closely with Core market finance leadership, commercial leaders, and market stakeholders to understand brand strategy, business drivers, pricing, gross-to-net, investment choices, and market realities, and converts that understanding into actionable financial challenge, decision support, and performance intervention. It is expected to apply strong judgment and business understanding to support decisions, influence trade-offs, and improve performance outcomes across a complex commercial environment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Act as a senior finance partner to commercial leaders, providing proactive challenge and support on performance, forecast, risks, opportunities, resource allocation.
- Support and influence integrity of assigned business area financials through robust analysis, independent judgment, and active challenge of planning assumptions and business cases.
- Analyze revenue, pricing, gross-to-net, discounting, rebate assumptions, cost packages, and other commercial drivers to identify issues, recommend actions, and influence prioritization.
- Lead planning, forecasting, and scenario modelling for business unit.
- Support or coordinate complex business case development, investment analysis, and performance interventions requiring significant analytical judgment.
- Build strong understanding of portfolio performance, business strategy, market access dynamics, and local commercial realities, connecting insights across markets or business areas where relevant.
- Translate detailed financial and operational data into practical, decision-relevant insight for senior stakeholder discussions.
- Challenge assumptions collaboratively and constructively, using evidence, judgment, and business understanding to improve decision quality.
- Identify performance risks early and drive intervention planning with the business.
- Lead evaluation of profitability, pricing pressure, access changes, and investment trade-offs across the assigned scope.
- Coordinate closely with GCC support teams to ensure high-quality data inputs, outputs, and performance narratives.
- Create clear leadership performance narratives and support action tracking through to resolution.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional planning and commercial finance workstreams with a high degree of independence.
- Mentor less experienced finance partners and contribute to development of stronger methods, standards, or review practices.
- Leverage digital and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, insight generation, and quality of decision support.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; advanced qualification desirable.
- Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business partnering, or related finance roles.
- Strong experience in planning, business case development, performance reviews, and investment analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with commercial or market-facing teams and influence key stakeholders.
- Experience leading complex workstreams or cross-functional initiatives with considerable autonomy preferred.
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel and modelling capability required.
- Experience with enterprise planning tools, Power BI or equivalent reporting and analytics platforms preferred, plus strong curiosity & willingness to upskill within AI field

$130,000.00 - $179,300.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
