How you’ll make an impact 

Leverage your expertise in community investment, food security and food loss and waste (FLW), and national program delivery to create FCC’s Drive Away Hunger strategy and lead the initiative across Canada. 

As a Community Investment Specialist, you’ll lead a national food security and FLW initiative, act as a subject matter expert on food security and food rescue, and build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external organizations to maximize community impact. Your strong relationship-building and project management skills will enable you to guide strategy, deliver complex initiatives and continuously improve program outcomes.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead the evolution and execution of the national Drive Away Hunger initiative and contribute to broader Community Investment strategies 

  • Build and manage partnerships related to food security and FLW across the Canadian ag and food and food security charity sectors 

  • Identify emerging trends, gaps and opportunities in food security and FLW to inform strategy and initiatives 

  • Oversee and report on food security and FLW initiatives, success measures and outcomes 

  • Provide informal leadership, coaching and training to Community Investment team members 

  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships to support organizational goals 

What you’ll bring to the team 

Required qualifications: 

  • A degree in marketing; environmental, social and governance (ESG); public relations, or communications 

  • At least five years of experience in community investment, ESG or a related field 

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in community investment programs and practices 

  • Proven expertise in food security and food loss and waste initiatives 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, national initiatives and manage projects 

  • Advanced proficiency in both official languages (English and French) 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience working with ESG, industry relations, Indigenous relations, communications, brand, media and operations 

  • Experience in government, a Crown Corporation or a corporate environment 

  • Knowledge of the ag and food industry  

  • Knowledge of ESG trends related to food security and food loss and waste
