The Connectivity Services Product Manager is responsible for contributing to the evolution of Telesat Lightspeed’s connectivity product portfolio and progressively owning and scaling value‑added service (VAS) products that extend and differentiate those connectivity offerings.

The role sits within the Product Management organization and works closely with Connectivity Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, Operations and ecosystem partners. Initially, the role will focus on Point Of Interconnect (PoI), and Internet connectivity products, building deep familiarity with the Lightspeed service stack, before expanding ownership into higher‑layer value‑added services such as cloud interconnect, SD‑WAN, and security overlays.

This role requires strong technical depth, a product mindset, and the ability to translate customer and market needs into scalable, commercially viable services.

Key Responsibilities

    Connectivity Portfolio Contribution (Initial Focus)

  • Contribute to the definition and evolution of connectivity products (Layer‑2 and Internet services) in partnership with existing Connectivity Product Managers.
  • Support alignment of connectivity product requirements with Point of Interconnect capabilities.
  • Ensure connectivity products are defined with a clear path to extensibility through value‑added services.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, program‑of‑record activities, and cross‑functional reviews related to connectivity services.

  • Point Of Interconnect Product Responsibility

  • Own product requirements for public and private Points of Interconnect (PoI) options, and interconnectivity with public cloud providers, data centers, and internet exchanges.
  • Contribute to the evolution of PoI‑anchored service models that support enterprise, service‑provider, and partner use cases.
  • Work with engineering and operations to ensure PoI‑based offerings are operationally scalable and fulfillment‑ready.
  • Engage with external ecosystem partners (cloud providers, colocation operators, IXs, terrestrial carriers) to support interoperable and commercially viable interconnect solutions.

  • Value‑Added Services Product Ownership (Progressive Expansion)

  • Own end‑to‑end product definition for assigned value‑added services, from concept and business case through launch and in‑life evolution.
  • Lead product requirements for higher‑layer services, including IP services, VPNs, segmentation, traffic engineering, QoS, resiliency, cloud connectivity, and security overlays.
  • Define services that integrate cleanly with enterprise WANs, SD‑WAN platforms, and cloud networking constructs, enabling hybrid satellite‑terrestrial architectures.
  • Shape and maintain the roadmap for value‑added services, ensuring alignment with connectivity capabilities and commercial priorities.

  • Cross‑Functional Leadership & Enablement

  • Act as a product subject‑matter expert for sales, solution architecture, and customer engagement teams.
  • Support complex enterprise opportunities by contributing to solution design, service descriptions, and commercial constructs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure product intent is reflected in implementation, automation, and operational processes.

  • Commercial & Market Insight

  • Contribute to pricing strategy, service schedules, and SLA frameworks.
  • Incorporate customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to refine product positioning.
  • Ensure offerings meet enterprise expectations for reliability, security, and global scalability.

Required Professional Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, solutions architecture, network engineering, or technical commercial roles within telecom, networking, cloud, or managed services.
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise connectivity, interconnect, or cloud‑based networking services.
  • Proven ability to operate across technical, commercial, and operational domains.

  • Technical Expertise

  • Strong foundation in IP networking and Layer‑3+ services (routing, VPNs, traffic management, SD-WAN overlays).
  • Strong foundation in Carrier Ethernet services, including MEF‑based service models, service attributes, and operational considerations.
  • Experience with ground interconnect, including Point of Interconnect (PoI), data centers, internet exchanges, cloud connectivity, and terrestrial backhaul.
  • Familiarity with enterprise cloud networking and hybrid connectivity models.

Product & Commercial Skills

  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, customer‑centric product offerings.
  • Experience defining service constructs, SLAs, and commercial frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The successful candidate must be eligible to process a Government of Canada, Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
