Job Purpose

GSK is looking to hire a COPD Specialty Sales Representative to join our Respiratory Team. This role is field-based and reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. This position covers the Ottawa and Kingston territory, and the ideal candidate will reside in or near this territory.
 

As a COPD Specialty Sales Representative, you will be responsible for executing strategic business plans that drive customer engagement and maximize the value of GSK’s respiratory portfolio. You will develop meaningful customer relationships, deliver customer-focused solutions, and utilize a multichannel approach to accelerate sales growth. Your ability to demonstrate strong business acumen, communicate scientific information effectively, and manage resources strategically will be critical to success. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Medical, marketing, and other internal partners, to support GSK’s mission to help Canadians do more, feel better, and live longer.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of GSK products, brand strategies, positioning, and plans of action, as well as the competitive landscape.

  • Apply knowledge of the patient journey and healthcare system to tailor customer conversations and deliver relevant, value-based solutions.

  • Build expertise in the healthcare environment by developing a deep understanding of customers, products, competitors, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement pathways.

  • Optimize territory investments by strategically managing budgets and leveraging internal and external resources to deliver the right support through the right channels at the right time.

  • Partner closely with Medical colleagues to support scientific exchange, strengthen clinical understanding, and deliver educational initiatives.

  • Leverage a multichannel engagement approach—including face-to-face, virtual, and digital interactions—to deliver personalized customer experiences and accelerate business growth.

  • Make sound, timely, and ethical decisions that contribute to business objectives and drive meaningful outcomes.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver innovative business solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant pharmaceutical sales experience.

  • Previous experience in a highly competitive sales environment - pharmaceutical or otherwise.

  • Strong knowledge of the local healthcare landscape, including hospital systems, customer networks, and the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn and leverage new technologies and digital platforms.

  • Demonstrated business owner mindset with a proactive, results-driven approach to identifying customer opportunities and executing effective strategies across multiple channels.

  • Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales objectives by aligning customer and patient needs with innovative healthcare solutions.

  • Excellent active listening skills with the ability to adapt communication and selling approaches to meet the unique needs and preferences of customers.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, compelling, and impactful customer interactions across multiple channels.

  • Strong scientific acumen, including the ability to interpret and communicate clinical data and research in a meaningful and competitive manner.

  • Experience using data and business insights to inform territory planning, identify opportunities, and optimize performance.

  • Demonstrated success leveraging a multichannel engagement approach, including in-person, virtual, and digital interactions (e.g., Veeva Engage, Zoom, phone, email) to drive customer engagement and business results.

  • Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment by embracing change, continuous improvement, and new ways of working.

  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a track record of building strong partnerships to achieve shared goals.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and territory management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a large geographic region and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Respiratory pharmaceutical sales experience.

  • Experience promoting biologic therapies within a specialty sales environment.

  • Established relationships and knowledge of healthcare professionals and key stakeholders across the Ottawa/Kingston territory.
     

This position requires the employee to drive routinely on company business and allows for the provision of a company-leased vehicle. However, to be eligible for this position and a company vehicle, GSK will need to obtain acceptable results from a license verification inquiry and drivers abstract review against its safe driver program requirements.

In compliance with Ontario's provincial pay transparency legislation, this job posting includes a salary range to support equitable and informed hiring practices. The annual compensation for this role is CAD104,000 to CAD154,000 , determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
