Job Description

About the Job:

Reporting to the Team Lead of English Content, the Freelance Copywriter writes the product descriptions for SSENSE’s wide range of products. Working on-site at our Studio in Montreal, they will ensure the best-in-class quality of our written content for our e-commerce platform, in line with SSENSE guidelines and quality standards. The ideal candidate has meticulous attention to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


What You Will Do:

Copywriting - 95% 

  • Execute copy on assigned SKUs across a variety of brands and product categories, while respecting the established style guides and balancing with productivity targets

  • Follow SSENSE production processes, and flag and/or troubleshoot issues to ensure daily production completion

  • Administer departmental guidelines to meet the quality standard and upkeep SSENSE brand tone of voice

  • Conduct research on terminology, brand signature and style name as needed

  • Manage time appropriately to achieve daily production deadlines and quality targets

  • Review and follow-up on SSENSE style guides


Continuous Improvement - 5%

  • Consistently review daily copy feedback provided by Sub Editors to ensure quality and accuracy

  • Review and follow-up on industry tools, techniques, and best practices in copywriting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Fashion Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • 2-3 years experience in professional writing 

  • Fluency in English language (as all content is in English)

  • Must be able to work at our HQ situated on Chabanel Ouest, Montreal
