About Opendoor
At Opendoor our mission is to tilt the world in favor of homeowners and those who aim to become one. Homeownership matters. It's how people build wealth, stability, and community. It's how families put down roots, how neighborhoods strengthen, how the future gets built. We're building the modern system of homeownership giving people the freedom to buy and sell on their own terms. We’ve built an end-to-end online experience that has already helped thousands of people and we’re just getting started.
About the Role
We're looking for a Corporate Development Associate to join our Corporate Development team, with a focus on financial modeling, valuation, and deal structuring that supports Opendoor's growth. You'll work alongside senior leaders to provide the rigorous analytical foundation behind Opendoor's strategic transactions, from investments to potential acquisitions. You'll be embedded in a fast-moving environment where deals are measured in weeks and months, not years.
This is a high-visibility role with exposure to Opendoor's most senior stakeholders and a chance to directly impact how the company evaluates and executes its most important deals.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess deal economics, company valuations, and strategic fit across potential transactions
- Conduct deep financial and accounting analysis on target companies, including revenue modeling, unit economics, and scenario analysis
- Evaluate multiple opportunities simultaneously, moving quickly from initial screening through financial analysis to recommendation
- Lead financial due diligence across legal, finance, product, and operations teams
- Structure deal terms and economics in collaboration with legal and business leads
- Develop executive-ready materials including memos, board presentations, and investment committee briefs
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technology to enhance analysis, automate workflows, and improve decision-making speed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required
- CFA charterholder or CFA candidate strongly preferred
- ~5 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or corporate development, ideally with exposure to software, SaaS, or technology sectors
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills; you're the person others come to when the model needs to be bulletproof
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to quickly understand complex financial statements and deal structures
- Comfortable operating at startup speed across multiple concurrent workstreams
- High degree of ownership and comfort with ambiguity; you drive processes forward without being told what to do next
- Fluency with AI tools and a genuine interest in applying them to financial analysis and deal execution
- Genuine curiosity about real estate, technology, and how markets evolve
Bonus Points
- Prior experience in real estate, proptech, or financial services
- Familiarity with the home-buying or selling transaction
Location
This role is based in our downtown Toronto office, in-person four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Candidates must be based within commuting distance of the office.
