We are looking for an organized and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Accounting Analyst for our Brampton, ON office.  

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze data from the general ledger system and various departments to prepare accurate and consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Execute full-cycle bookkeeping encompassing monthly accounting entries, financial reporting, and period-end close procedures.
  • Utilize advanced spreadsheet tools to develop, analyze, and validate financial reports ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain precise financial records by preparing general ledger entries and performing thorough account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for compilation engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen internal accounting procedures and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Provide support during monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Handle sensitive financial data with the utmost discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to gather financial information and provide meaningful insights that support business decisions.

  



Requirements
    • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is often required 
    • 2+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting or related field. 
    • Experience in the Logistics / Transportation or Supply Chain industries is an asset. 
    • Professional experience with reporting packages (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), databases and general programming languages Professional experience in data mining, cleaning, and segmentation is an asset. 
    • Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding operational environment, sometimes without detailed direction. 
    • Strong attention to details and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.  
    • Experience with payment applications. 
    • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.  
    • Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, trends and discrepancies.  
    • Ability to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment.
