Data Quality Analyst (1 year FTC)

Job Description

About the Role:

As a Data Quality Analyst/ Customer Master Data Specialist you will ensure the availability, integrity, and searchability of customer information across global systems. Sitting within SUSE’s Data Excellence Team, you will serve as a key operational anchor, collaborating with Field Sales, Sales Operations, FinOps, and IT to maintain database hygiene, triage data quality issues, and support compliance.

Please note: this is a 12-months fixed-term employment contract with benefits with an ideal start date of September 1.

What You'll Do:

  • Account Governance & Compliance Validation: Review and approve high volumes of global customer account requests across Jira, Salesforce, and team inboxes (~800 emails/month). Ensure data accuracy (names, addresses, website verification) while conducting critical legal compliance checks, including Descartes embargo screening and systemic VAT number verifications.

  • Database Deduplication & Hierarchy Management: Structure complex customer data frameworks by building corporate hierarchies (Top accounts and MCNs). Proactively drive deduplication efforts by auditing, staging, and preparing multi-tier accounts for merging to maintain database hygiene.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Support: Partner closely with FinOps, RevOps, Product Ops, and Legal departments globally. Resolve data anomalies, streamline order-to-cash workflows, and eliminate data bottlenecks during high-pressure monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles.

  • Proactive Data Quality Monitoring: Conduct daily and weekly sanity checks on Customer Master Data (CMD) dashboards to monitor core data elements, identify potential scam accounts, and resolve issues before they impact ordering or sales forecasting.

  • Strategic Project Execution: Actively contribute to key data integrity initiatives, including Account Hierarchy Consolidation, global partner database reviews (e.g., IBM), public account standardization, named account deduplication, and sales territory optimization.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field, with minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in data management, data governance, or master data operations.

  • System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com, Jira, and enterprise data management tools.

  • Compliance & Data Hygiene Awareness: Familiarity with data governance enabling technologies, address/VAT verification tools, and compliance screening processes.

  • Analytical & Technical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in desktop data analysis, formatting, and dashboard monitoring.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex decision points and foster a data-driven culture across global teams.

  • Detail & Process Orientation: Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive "can-do" attitude focused on continuous process improvement.
