Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing Land and Joint division. In this role, you will help address complex cybersecurity requirements by developing security strategies, designing secure systems, and implementing solutions grounded in strong security principles.

The position also involves hands-on security assessments and technical validation to confirm system resilience against real-world threats.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support to stakeholder engagement by identifying regulatory requirements, determining the applicable Security Assessment and Accreditation (SA&A) process, and securing concurrence from SA&A authorities on information protection needs;
  • Evaluation, selection, and definition of system security architectures and cybersecurity controls;
  • Conduct of threat modeling and vulnerability assessments to refine system defenses and enhance resilience;
  • Assessment of the security of operating systems, containerized environments to determine real-world exploitability;
  • Ensuring that cybersecurity frameworks align with military and industry standards;
  • Conduct of threat risk analyses, impact assessments, and vulnerability testing, including proof-of-concept validation where appropriate;
  • Development, writing, and execution of Security Test Procedures to verify System Security Requirements and demonstrate assurance through evidence-based testing;
  • Support to internal and external audits by creating and maintaining reproducible security artifacts and SA&A documentation, including System Security Plans, Risk Assessments, Security Artifacts in System Design Documents, and Security Test Reports; and
  • Mentoring of less senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of related cybersecurity experience;
  • Experience supporting secure system engineering, ideally in military environments;
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs and frameworks;
  • Experience conducting technical security testing, including system, network, or application assessments;
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management workflows, including CVE/CWE tracking and remediation;
  • Experience with or familiarity with AI/ML models;
  • Effective communicator, strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to motivate others through collaborative leadership; and
  • Excellent time management skills, whether working as a self-motivated individual or part of a team.
  • Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

Additional Information

The hiring range for this position is $92,000-$115,000.Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:
