Position Summary

The Data Quality & Operations Lead is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and usability of our core data assets. This position blends hands-on technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to drive data quality initiatives, optimize operational processes, and deliver actionable insights that support corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Data Operations

  • Own and oversee daily data validation tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all data workflows.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex data issues, performing root-cause analysis, troubleshooting anomalies, and implementing robust fixes.
  • Conduct proactive data audits and quality checks to maintain the highest levels of data integrity across systems.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and test new tools and platforms to modernize and enhance data operations.

Data Analysis & Business Support

  • Lead and execute strategic initiatives to improve data quality, including data mapping, categorization, cleansing, and process documentation.
  • Develop, refine, and automate reports, dashboards, and analytical insights to enhance decision-making for business stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary data liaison for third-party partners (e.g., Arcadia, IBM Envizi), managing integrations and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Provide expert data analysis and support for cross-functional teams, answering critical business questions and supporting proof-of-concept testing for new platforms.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Represent the Data Operations function in corporate-wide transformation initiatives, providing subject matter expertise and guidance.
  • Streamline and automate data validation and operational processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including SOPs, validation rules, and operational playbooks.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the company to resolve data-related issues and align on solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in a data-focused role (Data Operations, Data Quality, or Data Analysis).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead data quality initiatives and improve data processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting complex data issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with energy and sustainability data platforms, especially EnergyCAP, is a significant asset.
  • Experience with ESG reporting platforms like IBM Envizi.
  • Familiarity with Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) data and reporting.
