We have a current vacancy for a Data Coordinator to join our Team in Ottawa, Ontario.
The Data Coordinator for Engineering changes will be responsible for the data itself, including support in DRMIS, IPESA, JIRA and managing the project information that is not part of the configuration.
They will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization’s data management activities within the engineering change process. This position assists with the collection, entry, and validation of data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
The Data Coordinator helps implement data management procedures, monitors data quality, and supports efforts to resolve discrepancies or issues within the EC process. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to facilitate timely and efficient data flow, maintains thorough documentation, and contributes to data reporting and analysis activities. The position is ideal for individuals with some experience in data coordination and engineering changes.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Manage and maintain data entry processes, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness
Collect, organize, transcribe, and input data into repositories and platforms such as SFTP, SharePoint, and IPESA.
Perform regular and ad hoc data quality audits, proactively identifying and addressing inconsistencies, duplicates, errors, and gaps.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, interpret, and validate data requirements for ongoing projects and organizational initiatives.
Assist in the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of data management processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures
Ensure secure handling of sensitive information and compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and company policies.
Produce, format, and distribute data reports, datasets, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the implementation, testing, and onboarding of new data management tools, platforms, and system integrations.
Maintain and update training materials, and participate in onboarding and supporting new users with systems, best practices, and procedures.
Monitor data flows and system performance, escalating technical issues to IT or relevant teams as necessary.
Serve as a point of contact for routing data requests, troubleshooting data-related issues, and providing first-level support to work period teams.
Liaise with external partners and vendors on data exchange protocols and requirements, ensuring alignment and timeliness.
Assist in preparing data extracts and documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and program evaluation activities.
Develop and maintain an organized archive of data records, documentation, and correspondence.
Contribute to special projects and improvement initiatives as assigned by management.
Remain current with emerging data management and security practices to suggest improvements or best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years’ experience in data coordination, data management, or a similar role.
Diploma in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work accurately and with excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within an Engineering or Defense Environment
Experience with SAP or DRMIS is a plus
The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) $66,646.80 - 124,407.36 CAD Annual.
This reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as the company’s annual salary budget, the customer’s program requirements, and the company’s internal equity.
