Accountabilities:
Data Governance Strategy & Framework:

  • Establish and maintain a data governance framework, including roles, processes, and tools for managing data across its lifecycle.
  • Ensure data governance policies and practices are in place and communicated effectively to all stakeholders.


Data Quality & Integrity:

  • Define and enforce data quality standards and guidelines to ensure data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
  • Implement data quality monitoring programs to detect, correct, and prevent data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with data stewards and business units to maintain data integrity.


Data Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to data security and privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other industry standards.
  • Work with Digital Technology and legal teams to enforce data protection policies and ensure data is handled securely.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.


Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with business leaders, Digital Technology, legal, compliance, and other stakeholders to promote data governance best practices across the organization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to address data governance challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on data governance principles and practices.


Data Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the management of data from creation to archival and disposal, ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Implement data retention and destruction policies in accordance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.


Reporting & Metrics:

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance activities, such as data quality, compliance, and security.
  • Report on data governance progress to senior leadership and recommend improvements as necessary.


Data Governance Tools & Technology:

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement data governance tools, platforms, and technologies that streamline and automate data governance processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to data governance and apply them to the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, supply chain, finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality management.
  • Systems thinker who understands that downstream impacts of data issues on downstream business processes.
  • Results-driven and process improvement-focused with a strong propensity for excellence.
  • Experience working in a CPG company preferred.


Skills:

  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools, such as SAP MDG, Informatica, Stibo or similar preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a cross function/cross regional team.
  • Practical knowledge of Organizational Change Management strategies and approaches.
  • Proven communication skills with an ability to engage and collaborate with cross functional teams.


About the Team:
The Data Governance Managers will be responsible for the management, quality, security, and compliance with regulations of our master data and data governance initiatives. Master data is the foundation of our enterprise and a key enabler of becoming a more digital first culture. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of master data management policy and standards.
In this role you will be working on a global team, implementing enterprise standards and tools required to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our master data. You will become McCain's expert on your master data domain (e.g. Customer, Vendor, Finance, etc.). reporting to the Director, Global Business Data Governance. This role has the flexibility to be based out of any of our corporate offices in North America (Florenceville, New Brunswick; Oakbrook Terrace, IL or Toronto, Ontario or Globally).

Compensation Package : $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
