Lead the creation and maturation of a province-wide healthcare data governance program. Provide strategic leadership across data governance, policy, privacy, clinical operations, analytics, and digital health. Establish frameworks, policies, standards, decision rights, accountability models, and data stewardship practices while engaging senior stakeholders across the system.

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish, lead, and mature a province-wide healthcare data governance program. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across data governance, healthcare policy, privacy, clinical operations, analytics, and digital health. This role will help establish effective governance frameworks, policies, standards, decision rights, accountability models, and data stewardship practices across the healthcare system.
Requirements
Mandatory Req:
- University degree in Healthcare Sciences, Health Administration, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience leading Canadian healthcare data governance strategy, planning, policy, and implementation at a provincial/territorial level or in a jurisdiction of comparable size or complexity.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within government, focused on health-system planning and provincial initiatives involving data and/or digital health.
- Demonstrated ability to work at a provincial healthcare-system scale.
Preferred / Scored Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in the public healthcare sector, provincial government, provincial agencies, or acute-care environments leading data-related initiatives.
- 10+ years of progressive public-sector healthcare leadership, including direct people management and leadership of large teams.
- 8+ years developing digital health strategies, policies, and roadmaps at provincial/territorial scale.
- 10+ years of stakeholder management across clinical, business, technical, operational, public-sector, and private-sector groups.
- 8+ years engaging with healthcare executives, clinical leaders, and senior stakeholders to drive system-level transformation.
- 5+ years collaborating with Privacy departments and Chief Privacy Officers on:Privacy policies and procedures, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Consent management, Personal health information, Ethical and appropriate data use
- 8+ years producing executive-level reports, presentations, program materials, and facilitating complex stakeholder discussions.
