Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

We are looking for a strategic and technically adept Product Owner to lead the development of our cloud-based data warehouse and internal data products that power analytics and decision-making across Moneris. This role is important to shaping the future of data-driven insights by delivering scalable, secure, and user-centric data solutions. You will work with engineering, analytics, and partners to build a product vision that accelerates time-to-insight and maximizes business value.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid work schedule.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Product (Data Solutions).

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
  • Lead the vision, strategy, and 3-month to 18-month roadmap for Moneris' internal data platform and data products, ensuring understanding of our goals and user needs.

  • Champion data as a product, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making and promoting adoption of platform capabilities across the organization.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Business teams to define product requirements, prioritize features, and provide solutions.

  • Translate complex needs into clear, applicable user stories and maintain a product backlog.

  • Guide the development of data ingestion, transformation, storage, and presentation layers to support real-time and batch analytics.

  • Ensure data products are secure, compliant, and scalable, with a focus on usability and performance.

  • Lead agile teams, facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure continuous delivery of value.

  • Monitor product performance using OKRs and KPIs and iterate based on feedback and evolving needs.

  • Stay current with industry trends in data platforms, AI/ML, and cloud technologies, and apply best practices to product development.

  • Build relationships with company partners to create a feedback loop and ensure product-market fit.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data platforms, data products, or analytics solutions.

  • 2+ years of Agile experience, scrum framework.

  • Experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Teradata).

  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and prototyping – experience applying data to guide results.

  • Balance technical depth with business acumen, and to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering measurable outcomes.

  • Experience with data architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms (e.g., Databricks, DataRobot) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, backlog management, and team leadership.

  • Experience with data privacy, compliance, and security best practices.

  • Experience in payments, FinTech, or merchant acquiring industries.

  • Familiarity with data mesh, data contracts, and modern data product thinking.

  • Experience with ETL tools such as DBT, Talend, or Informatica.

  • Understanding of design of experiments, A/B testing, and data monetization strategies.
