Sony Imageworks is seeking a Dev-Ops Engineer to join our team!

Job Summary:
Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a versatile and proactive DevOps & JAMF engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in building and deploying applications, automating infrastructure and deployment processes, ensuring the smooth operation and security of our Mac-based environment, and driving quality through automated testing. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of macOS, JAMF Pro, scripting with Python, and QA automation principles. The engineer will report to the VP of Technology at Sony Pictures Animation.

Responsibilities:

JAMF Administration & Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain JAMF Pro policies, configurations, and profiles.
  • Manage software deployment, patching, and inventory using JAMF.
  • Fix and resolve JAMF-related issues, ensuring a stable and secure Mac environment.
  • Develop and maintain JAMF scripts for automation and customization.
  • Provide expert-level support for macOS environments.
  • Solve hardware and software issues on macOS devices.

DevOps & Automation:

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
  • Automate infrastructure management and software deployment using scripting (primarily Python).
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for various IT tasks.
  • Work with cloud based services related to deployments.

Scripting & Development:

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, system administration, and data processing.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and applications.
  • Work with API's to interact with various systems.

QA Automation:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for applications and infrastructure.
  • Implement and use QA automation frameworks.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze test results and report defects.
  • Work with developers to ensure testable code.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with developers, desktop admins, and other partners.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or Systems Administrator with a focus on macOS.
  • Extensive experience with JAMF Pro administration and management.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python.
  • Deep understanding of macOS operating systems and administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with cloud based services.
  • Experience with QA automation principles and tools.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with other scripting languages (e.g., Bash).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., JAMF certifications, Apple certifications, QA certifications).
  • Experience working with API's.
  • Experience with performance testing.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $77,600 - $100,000/yr CAD. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
