Location: Ottawa, ON
Duration: 8-16 months (for co-ops) | 8 months (for interns)

About this opportunity:
Are you ready to shape the future of wireless technology? Join Ericsson's Radio Product Development team as a Software Developer Co-op and gain hands-on experience in developing cutting-edge 5G and Open RAN technologies. As a co-op student, you'll be immersed in feature development across systemisation, design, coding, and testing of radio platform software. You'll work in a dynamic Agile environment alongside cross-functional teams in systems, hardware, and software, contributing directly to the design and evolution of world-class radio products. We are especially focused on integrating artificial intelligence across all aspects of our daily work-including software development, testing, and troubleshooting-to drive innovation and efficiency.
What you will do:
• Develop production software, unit tests, and automated test systems for 5G radio and Open RAN platforms.• Design and implement advanced test automation strategies using modern technologies, including AI.• Troubleshoot and resolve issues collaboratively during testing phases.• Participate in lab-based software/hardware integration testing.• Review and provide feedback on software designs and test plans.
The skills you bring:
• Currently enrolled in a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferably in the final year).• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and organized approach.• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.• Experience with Linux development environments and proficiency in C/C++.
Preferred Qualifications:• Familiarity with Java, especially for test automation.• Interest or experience in AI-driven testing tools and emerging automation technologies.• Basic understanding of wireless communication standards (5G, Open RAN).• Knowledge of real-time or embedded software systems.• Exposure to hardware components and system integration.

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is
Bachelors: $25.50/hr - $34.50/hr
Masters: $37/hr
