About the Role: 

Demandbase is seeking a passionate and experienced API Evangelist & Developer Relations Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the adoption and success of our API ecosystem, fostering a thriving developer community, and serving as the bridge between our field teams and external developers.

The base compensation range for this role is $93,000-$139,000 which does not include bonus/variable pay.

What you'll be doing:

Technical Leadership & Education

  • Design and implement developer education programs to accelerate API adoption
  • Create high-quality technical content including documentation, tutorials, code samples, and integration guides
  • Develop and maintain sample applications demonstrating API best practices
  • Track and develop a library of API-based use cases across the developer community
  • Lead technical workshops, webinars, and training sessions for developers
  • Provide technical guidance on API implementation and usage

Community Building & Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary technical ambassador for Demandbase's API platform
  • Build and nurture relationships with key developers and technical decision-makers
  • Represent Demandbase at industry events, conferences, and developer meetups
  • Manage and grow our developer community through forums, social media, and direct engagement
  • Create and maintain a developer advocacy program

Product & Strategy

  • Gather and synthesize developer feedback to inform API product roadmap
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure API features meet developer needs
  • Monitor API usage patterns and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop strategies to increase API adoption and engagement
  • Track and report on key API program metrics

Technical Support & Success

  • Provide escalated technical support for complex API integration challenges
  • Create troubleshooting guides and support documentation
  • Work with customer success teams to ensure successful API implementations
  • Identify and document common integration patterns and best practices

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in developer relations, API evangelism, technical support, consulting, or similar roles
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in API integration and software development
  • Ability to speak with developers as well as less-technically capable customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proficient in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, from highly technical developers to non-technical customers, adapting communication to suit their needs and expertise.
  • Proven track record of building and managing developer communities
  • Familiarity with B2B marketing technologies and account-based marketing concepts
  • Experience with developer tools, version control systems, and modern web technologies
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages, demonstrating the ability to design, develop, and troubleshoot complex systems effectively. 
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, business intelligence tools, and databases, with an understanding of their usage in modern application development.
