Salary range (but not limited to):
59,300 - 72,500Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

Our Specialty Lines Claims Development Program is a 12-month accelerated learning experience designed to give you unparalleled expertise and grow your career in an exciting industry. In this program, mentors, managers, and claims coaches will teach you the ins and outs of our specialty insurance business through a variety of learning styles, and you can take advantage of our vibrant student and new grad community. The program will begin June 2026.
But wait, what exactly is Specialty Lines? And what does a claims team do?
Specialty Lines is a major division of our business that provides insurance solutions to unique industries with complex product needs. Intact business spans more than 23 different lines of business in four distinct markets – U.S., Canada, UK, and Europe – with the ability to provide solutions in over 150 territories with over 130 global network partners. We have specialized products, services, and expertise for: Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Crime, Cyber, Technology, Entertainment, Equipment Breakdown, Energy, Municipalities, Transportation and Marine.
Our Claims experts understand the products inside and out and manage the claims from the first notice of loss up to the conclusion of the claim. As a member of the team, you’d become a champion of claims management & assessment and work directly with Intact clients and brokers in supporting them throughout the claim process to provide the best client service in the industry.
Through this program, you will:
- Learn the technical aspects of insurance, claims management, coverage analysis, assessing and evaluating the loss, negotiate and bring the file to a resolution.
- Learn in inspiring ways - classroom, on-the-job and self-study– in a collaborative work environment
- Build relationships with our clients, brokers and underwriting partners and learn the value of living our values every day.
- Be involved in stimulating, challenging projects and development opportunities to help you grow your skills and expertise.
- Build your professional networks – both at Intact and industry events.
What you bring to the table:
- Have recently graduated from post-secondary within the last 3 years (backgrounds in Finance, Business, or Legal would be an asset)
- Experience in the insurance industry would be an asset, but not required
- Professional industry related designations (CIP) would be considered an asset
- Available to join our Development Program full-time in June 2026.
- You care about people and are a natural at building and nurturing relationships
- You have a creative approach to problem-solving
- You have exemplary analytical skills and can make informed decisions.
- You are a skilled communicator who can adapt your approach to your audience.
- You can influence decisions and negotiate strategically.
- You are an enthusiastic learner who thrives within a team or independently.
- Bilingualism would be an asset (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country. English is a requirement in Quebec.
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
