As a DevOps Engineer at Tenstorrent, you will build, scale, and optimize infrastructure for AI chip development, focusing on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid computing environments.
The summary above was generated by AI

Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build, scale, and optimize the infrastructure that powers the development of Tenstorrent's revolutionary Tensix AI cores. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of high-performance computing (HPC), electronic design automation (EDA), and modern DevOps automation, directly enabling the team that builds the engine for our AI chips.

This role is hybrid, based out of Toronto, ON or Austin, TX.

We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Who You Are
  • A Linux expert passionate about automation and optimizing complex, performance-critical workflows
  • Skilled in scripting (Python, Tcl, Bash) and building CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) for large-scale hardware regression and verification.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible to manage a hybrid compute environment.
  • Experienced with Docker and Kubernetes for creating reproducible and scalable engineering environments for the Tensix team.
  • Familiar with, or eager to master, the EDA compute fabric, including job schedulers (LSF), environment management (Modules), and license managers (FlexLM).

What We Need
  • Someone who can automate and improve the Tensix core development infrastructure, from RTL design through physical implementation.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines capable of handling millions of daily simulations for the full verification flow.
  • A partner to work directly with Tensix engineers to identify and remove bottlenecks in design and verification loops.
  • Apply data analytics and leverage LLMs/RAGs to design smarter workflows that accelerate both software and hardware development.
  • Expertise to scale and manage a hybrid HPC grid, balancing on-prem LSF clusters with cloud resources to power massive simulation workloads.

What You Will Learn
  • How to build and scale a state-of-the-art EDA environment for a revolutionary AI accelerator core.
  • Practical techniques for hybrid cloud management tailored to the bursty compute demands of semiconductor verification.
  • How to implement DevOps best practices within one of the industry's most advanced hardware teams.
  • Ways to apply modern AI techniques, including LLMs and RAGs, to reshape workflows in both software and hardware design.
  • The methods and workflows driving the next generation of Tenstorrent’s AI cores.

Tenstorrent offers a highly competitive compensation package and benefits, and we are an equal opportunity employer.
