About the Opportunity:

As a DevOps Technical Lead at Toppan Merrill, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a stable and efficient cloud-based infrastructure on one of our core product teams. This position will be focused on hands on technical leadership as well as coaching and mentoring other DevOps engineers and SREs. This role requires a strong technical background, a desire to develop leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes.
  • Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring.
  • Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders, motivating and communicating within their department and across multiple levels.
  • Improve product quality, security, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundational experience in DevOps, including experience with deployment/configuration management tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows OS, and experience with Azure and other cloud services
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, or SQL.
  • Proven ability to build and lead global, high-performing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated successful partnership with stable counterparts.

We understand that your skills deserve recognition. That's why we offer a competitive base salary pay scale ranging from $116,000 to $120,000 CAD annually, based on experience and expertise. We believe in compensating our dedicated team members fairly for their hard work and commitment. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location. This position is also eligible for a company performance-based bonus program.
