Salary Range: $72,000-$107,000 (base salary + bonus)

Position Summary:

407 ETR is seeking a Digital Communications Advisor to join its Communications and Government Relations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for development, strategy and execution of advertising, social media and the website and ongoing development and dissemination of communications campaigns to build and enhance 407 ETR’s brand and reputation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media and website content planning, working in close collaboration with our Communications team to deliver data-driven campaigns.

  • Owning digital communications strategy, execution, and performance.

  • This role requires an energetic, enthusiastic and proactive digital marketer with a pulse on news, current events and digital trends to keep 407 ETR’s social channels evolving with the times.

  • Manage the entire process of social media communications from content creation, approval, programming and reporting.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex technical language into engaging social media posts and website content.

  • With input from other team members, the successful incumbent will manage the department’s social media calendar, leveraging current events and trends to ensure that messaging is developed and programmed to meet ongoing content requirements across 407 ETR’s digital channels.

  • Work closely with Digital Communications Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance and content updates of 407 ETR’s website to ensure optimal performance, user experience and alignment with brand standards.

  • Develop social media strategies and targeted advertising campaigns to meet business objectives and fulfill customer/driver needs and expectations.

  • Maintain regular KPI tracking and reporting, feeding into various internal and external communications as required.

  • Monitor social media listening tools and respond to customer inquiries, coordinating with the Customer Service team to deescalate and assist with the resolution of customer issues as quickly as possible. Intermittent after hours and weekend work will be required.

  • Must serve in an on-call rotation for after-hours monitoring of 407 ETR’s social media feeds.

  • Highly collaborative, liaising with subject matter experts and the Communications team.

  • Assist with copywriting for a variety of media including but not limited to: social media posts, webpages, newsletter articles, podcasts, video scripts and posters.

  • Assist the Communications & Government Relations Department in other tasks as required. These tasks may include event planning, campaign planning, internal communications and administrative tasks.

  • Assist with the production of PowerPoint presentations as required.

  • Provide on-the-ground support and coordination for key brand events/initiatives as required, including content creation, community management, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Journalism or Business. Post-graduate certificate in PR or Communications an asset.

  • 5+ years of experience in creating both traditional and digital media.

  • An eye for detail, exceptional grammatical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement digital communication strategies that align with organizational goals, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize engagement across multiple platforms.

  • Proficient in Canva and Adobe design products to build social media graphics and videos.

  • Experience managing and maintaining websites using content management systems (Contenful an asset), with a strong understanding of web usability, SEO and GEO best practices, and basic HTML/CSS.

  • Skilled at producing video and leveraging live and story features for social media platforms.

  • Highly experienced in posting content on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

  • Familiar with strategies to build employee advocacy through LinkedIn.

  • Knowledgeable of TikTok and other emerging platforms.

  • Experience with influencer marketing considered an asset.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Creative thinker with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and responsive social media role.

  • Highly collaborative team player.

  • Skilled at working within social media listening tools and programming platforms. Experience with Brandwatch considered an asset.

  • Strong communication skills and work ethic.

  • Availability to work after-hours and on weekends as required.
