At Ericsson, you will help shape the hardware platforms that power global connectivity. We are looking for a Hardware Digital Designer who brings deep technical expertise, strong design ownership, and the ability to influence product direction while working hands-on with complex digital hardware.
About this opportunity
As a Senior Hardware Digital Designer, you are a highly experienced individual contributor with end-to-end responsibility for significant parts of digital hardware design. You are expected to independently drive design activities, make sound technical decisions, and influence system-level trade-offs while collaborating closely with system, software, layout, power, mechanical, and verification teams.
You will act as a technical reference within the team, contributing to design strategy, mentoring less-experienced engineers, and ensuring that solutions meet performance, quality, cost, and reliability targets in accordance with Ericsson Product Development Principles.
What you will do
• Take technical ownership of complex digital hardware subsystems from requirements and architecture through design, verification, release, and lifecycle support.
• Lead schematic design for advanced digital solutions including SoCs, FPGAs, ASICs, high-speed memories (DDR), Ethernet and high-speed serial interfaces, clocking architectures, and supporting logic.
• Drive and review design trade-offs across performance, power, cost, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
• Guide pre- and post-layout collaboration and SI/PI considerations.
• Lead board bring-up, verification, and complex debugging, mentoring others during lab activities.
• Identify design risks early and initiate corrective actions.
• Support production introduction, qualification, and field issue resolution.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Coach and mentor junior designers and contribute to capability building.

The skills you bring
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in board-level digital hardware design.
• Strong system understanding of FPGAs, SoCs, memory subsystems, Ethernet, and high-speed interfaces.
• Proven ability to independently drive design decisions.
• Deep hands-on experience with hardware verification and debugging.
• Solid understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, clocking, and timing.
• Experience working in cross-functional, multi-site teams.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
You might also have
• Experience with telecom, radio, or networking hardware products.
• Exposure to high-volume production and manufacturing support.
• Experience with test automation or analysis scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Previous experience acting as a technical mentor or design lead.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is $101,500 - $133,350
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of 3 medical and dental plan options that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Core level coverage is paid for fully by Ericsson.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
