About the role:
We’re looking for a Director of Data (Engineering & Analytics) to own and evolve ZayZoon’s data platform, shaping how we turn raw data into trusted insights. You’ll be a player-coach, leading and rolling up your sleeves to build a reliable, scalable data ecosystem. You’ll partner closely with GTM, Product, and Finance teams, and transform analytics into real business impact - not just dashboards. You’ll also grow and mentor a team, championing standards while enabling speed and flexibility across the org. Your work will directly increase trust in data at every level, reduce noise, and make sure every team has the insights they need to move fast and confidently. At ZayZoon, your work won’t just inform decisions - it will shape the way we grow, operate, and win.
Your impact:
Set a clear, pragmatic vision for how data supports ZayZoon’s growth, defining the fundamentals of data infrastructure, modeling, and analytics as we scale
Build the core data foundations from the ground up, establishing reliable, secure, and accessible systems that teams can trust day-to-day
Put simple, effective data governance in place, clarifying ownership, standards, and documentation without slowing teams down
Coach and grow a high-impact data team, setting strong expectations and rolling up your sleeves to work closely with them
Partner closely with cross-functional teams to focus early data efforts on revenue visibility, operational efficiency, and better decision-making
You bring:
5+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics, with 3+ years of direct people management experience
Deep experience across the full data stack, from sources and ETL pipelines to warehouses, orchestration, governance, and analytics with a love for being hands-on, turning challenges into solutions right alongside your team
You’ve set up north star metrics and KPI frameworks before, and you know how to guide teams through changes in process, governance, and tools so everyone stays aligned
You think about infrastructure with the big picture in mind, balancing immediate business needs with long-term growth, and you understand how systems like CRM, CDP, and data warehouses fit together to drive results
You’ve successfully built and led data engineering and analytics teams, transforming how organizations approach and trust their data along the way

We care a lot about employee experience and pay is a big part of that. We’re currently on a journey toward internal pay transparency, with that work wrapping up by the end of Q1. We’re focused on doing this thoughtfully, starting with the people who make ZayZoon what it is. Being more transparent with folks outside the company than with our own team wouldn’t feel right so we’re intentionally completing this important internal work first.
