We’re looking for a bold, collaborative, and visionary Director of Design to lead our growing marketing design team and elevate the creative expression of our brand across every touchpoint in service of our broader business goals. In this role, you’ll set the bar for design excellence, develop and coach high-performing creatives, and partner cross-functionally to bring compelling, consistent, and strategically aligned design work to life.
You will oversee the development and execution of a wide range of design creations, everything from campaigns to product marketing assets to brand systems, and even internal initiatives—all while ensuring design is a strategic force that drives impact and builds emotional connection with our customers, members, and providers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creative & Strategic Leadership. You’ll Set and evolve the design vision in alignment with brand and business goals, while upholding and extending our visual identity across all channels, ensuring consistency and craft
- Collaboration & Support. You’ll partner across marketing, revenue, product, and other cross-functional teams to bring big ideas to life and ensure design contributes meaningfully to our company priorities and goals
- Team Management & Development. You’ll manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of designers (brand, digital, motion, etc.), while fostering a culture of creativity, feedback, experimentation, and high performance. You’ll hold a high bar while hiring, onboarding, and development of top-tier design talent
- Delivering on Executional Excellence. You’ll review and approve high-impact design work—from campaigns to landing pages to event collateral, and ensure timelines, quality, and brand integrity are upheld across all deliverables. You’ll partner with Marketing Operations to establish and refine design systems, processes, and tools for scale and efficiency.
- Measurement & Impact. You’ll partner with the broader MLT and analytics to ensure we’re thinking strategically about how to measure our creative function and connect their work to business impact. You’ll ensure your team is championed in every room and across the organization.
- Thought Leadership & Visioning. You’ll partner closely across the organization to set a vision for our Brand Design, and inspire others to come along for the journey. You’ll serve as a thought partner to stakeholders on how design can drive storytelling, clarity, emotion, and action.
What success looks like in this role:
- Achieving our Marketing goals through creative, impactful design
- Leading a high performing design team, while fostering their development and creativity
- Develop strong partnerships across marketing and the broader organization, inspiring support and thought leadership in our brand design and its evolution
- Leading from the front with a strong POV on where our brand should go and how to get there
What we expect from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10+ years of experience in design, with at least 3 years in a creative leadership role
- A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, strategic design across digital and brand experiences
- Deep expertise in brand systems, campaign design, and marketing creative
- Strong people management skills with experience coaching and growing creative talent
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- A thoughtful, curious, and passionate approach to problem-solving through design
The target base salary range for this position is $173,110 - $216,390, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
