Job Summary:
The Director of IT Operations will play a critical leadership role in shaping and scaling WEKA's IT strategy, infrastructure, and operations to support our rapid global growth. This role encompasses overseeing all aspects of IT, including endpoint management, collaboration tools, hybrid cloud infrastructure, IT security, compliance, and resource management. The ideal candidate is both hands-on and a strategic thinker with a proven track record of success in leading small high-performing IT teams, scaling IT operations in a dynamic environment, and a deep understanding of modern IT best practices, particularly in hybrid cloud infrastructure & security management.
Responsibilities:
IT Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with WEKA's business objectives and growth trajectory.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all IT functions, including client services, infrastructure, operations, security, and enterprise collaboration.
- Lead team of 8 global IT team in delivering exceptional service and support to WEKA global workforce.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT organization.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, particularly enterprise AI-enabled solutions, to identify opportunities to enhance IT services.
IT Operations & Support
- Ensure continuous IT access and comprehensive support for all WEKA employees across all systems and tools.
- Oversee the procurement, management, and security of employee endpoints, for Macs and Windows laptops.
- Oversee the procurement, management, and security of HPC infrastructure requirements within our co-lo data centers.
- Manage company-wide collaboration services, including:
- Email - Gmail, O365
- Video-conferencing tools - Google Meet, Zoom, Teams
- Messaging platforms - Slack, Teams
- Productivity tools - Google Workspace, O365
- Document/Knowledge management systems -
- File management systems - Google Drive, OneDrive
- Establish and enforce mobile device usage guidelines.
Security & Compliance
- Manage identities for all WEKA employees, subcontractors, and partners.
- Develop, implement, and enforce security guidelines and IT policies.
- Lead IT compliance efforts, including GDPR and ISO27001 certification renewals.
- Oversee IT and data security for WEKA:
- Promote security awareness training.
- Manage incident detection & response operations.
- Collaborate with WEKA Product security team to strengthen IT security measures.
- Oversee vendor and supplier IT security commitments.
IT Budget & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Oversee IT procurement processes, negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in scaling IT operations for high-growth companies.
- Deep hands-on understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, SaaS applications, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience managing a global IT support organization with 24/7 availability.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in a pre-IPO or high-growth technology company.
- Experience with both Microsoft O365 and Google Workspace ecosystems.
- Experience with Slack, Zoom, Teams, Okta.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL).

USA Residents Only: The OTE hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is $225,000-275,000. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Flexible Time off (FTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws.
