Reporting to the SVP, HR & Operations, this role leads the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication programs internally and externally across Canada that generate demand for CNA products and segments whilst also strengthening the brand as a leading specialty insurer and a great place to work for leading industry talent.
The role leads a dynamic team of proactive marketing and communication professionals who deliver a broad range of services to CNA internal business functions, Commercial and Specialty business units and to our geographical field network.
Working closely with Global marketing function, the role implements the global CNA brand and marketing strategies to deliver on CNA business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Marketing Leadership
- Leads the creation and implementation of the overall marketing and communications vision, strategy and plan to deliver CNA corporate goals.
- Develop and run a clear and consistent marketing service proposition that supports the requirements of the Canadian team.
- Proactively develops and maintains first class relationships with internal stakeholders and leadership team to enable superior understanding and outcomes.
- Manages an effective marketing and communications function, continually developing and enhancing capability and talent in equal measure.
- Creates a high performing Marketing and Communications team through the attraction, development and retention of top talent.
- Monitors and measure the effectiveness of all marketing/communications activity through robust KPI's to demonstrate ROI.
- Negotiates and manages the annual marketing budget and cost centre in collaboration with leadership.
Marketing Strategy
- Develops and oversees the delivery of a corporate communications strategy to build the organisation's brand and reputation internally and externally.
- Responsible for brand management and ccommunicating CNA's mission, message, strategies and values across all channels, internal and external.
- Ensures that the integrity of the brand is maintained and promoted at all times.
- Promote position as the industry's thought leader through integrated campaigns including collateral, digital and social media, industry events and advertising/public relations.
- Identifies and effectively utilises a range of suitable channels and creative methodologies to deliver successful results including but not limited to digital marketing and leveraging full Global resources as necessary.
- Ensures thoughtful, innovative and proactive internal communication across CNA Canada that informs, inspires and motivates our talent.
- Provides proactive business partnering to key stakeholders through structured and focused support model that builds preference for our products and CNA as an employer.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
In-depth knowledge of theories and practices for product development, program management, direct mail/direct response, database and e-marketing, public relations, market research and campaign development. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibility, team and/or matrix environment Media aware and trained Leads to inspire others and management skills demonstrating integrity and professionalism. Ability to drive results by identifying and resolving problems within scope of responsibility. Knowledge of the insurance industry, its products and services. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Marketo (or equivalent marketing automation programs) and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree with master's preferred in a related discipline, or equivalent.
2. Typically, a minimum of 10 years of related marketing, communications and PR experience, in an insurance company or broker is an asset. Underwriting, sales, and distribution management experience considered an asset.
3. Applicable professional certifications preferred.
