As a Director of Product on the Trust & Safety (T&S) team at Affirm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of consumer financial services, commerce, and payments.

The T&S team is responsible for onboarding consumers, verifying their identity, and allowing them to easily and securely access Affirm through our app, Affirm Card and at leading partners such as Amazon, Shopify, Apple Pay and Stripe. We do this by building and optimizing sign-up and sign-in experiences powered by data integrations and risk-decisioning systems to deliver seamless customer experiences.

  • Cross-team collaboration and accountability: Negotiate dependencies with sister teams (in both directions) and ensure timely delivery of commitments to key partners such as Amazon, Shopify and Apple

  • Elevate team capacity: Ensure sufficient urgency, focus and increasing usage of AI tools to continually raise your teams’ velocity, i.e., bring your founder mode!

  • Team development: Foster greatness in your PMs (ICs and managers) and XFN partners, while attracting top talent when needing to up-level roles

  • Incessant curiosity: Actively seek out better solutions and never accept the status quo when innovative ideas emerge; stay current on diverse authentication methods; leverage insights to develop the optimal mix of risk-mitigation strategies to achieve customer, partner and business results

  • Detailed Program Management: Provide visibility into key workstreams and programs, inclusive of experiment/feature pipeline, roadmap, risks, upcoming trade-offs and financial impact from driving the business while mitigating fraud losses

  • Senior Leader Interaction: Interact effectively with senior leaders both internally and externally, presenting insights and strategies that drive our company’s objectives

What we look for

  • 10+ years of product management experience in consumer-facing software companies

  • Track record of running high-velocity growth pipelines, turning ideas into experiments, launches and achieving scale in rapid succession

  • Ability to identify product opportunities through data analysis, competitor benchmarking and first-hand experience with analogous financial products

  • Comfortable with front-end, back-end and API technologies

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with a diverse stakeholder audiences

  • Experience balancing time to market and rigor, striking the right balance between flexibility and consistency, and comfortable communicating priorities
