Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Director, Tax and Accounting Solutions. You will lead the organization’s tax and accounting functions for our office in Walnut Creek, CA as we continue to scale our business in the US. You will have a passion for partnering with the business to minimize tax exposure/risk and drive value for the organization and our clients. This role will be based in Walnut Creek, CA and go into the office in a hybrid model. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership on all tax-related matters for clients, including planning, structuring, and risk management.

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of tax returns, reports, and other required documentation.

  • Oversee tax, accounting and Bookkeeping operations and institute continuous improvement methodology.

  • Work with Product organization to optimize our processes and establish best in class operations leverage through technology enabled solutions.  This will be informed by the Product roadmap for our tax services business.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate tax considerations into our service lines 

  • Lead and mentor a team of senior tax advisors, tax advisors, operations and professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Drive project management, process improvements and efficiencies within the tax function, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance effectiveness and scalability.

Key Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master of Taxation, JD) and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate taxation, with experience in a public company environment.

  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive results, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement for both on and off-shore teams. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, with an ability to make a decision, start executing, and course correct as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.

  • High integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and governance.

  • Experience integrating varying tax processes.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Strong technical expertise in tax laws, regulations, and principles, with a focus on US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
