We are looking for an intermediate C++ / Qt Embedded Developer to support the development of software for embedded and mission-critical systems. This role will focus on building reliable applications and user interfaces that support complex communication, monitoring, and control systems. The ideal candidate has strong C++ experience, hands-on Qt GUI development skills, and is comfortable working in Linux-based environments where software needs to be stable, maintainable, and well-tested.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications using C++ and Qt.
Develop and enhance graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML or Qt Widgets for operator-facing systems.
Work with Linux-based platforms to support software integration, configuration, debugging, and deployment.
Collaborate with software, systems, test, and integration teams to deliver reliable functionality across complex hardware and software environments.
Troubleshoot software issues related to UI behaviour, system performance, communication interfaces, and platform integration.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, testing activities, and release preparation.
Support integration and validation activities, including debugging issues found during lab testing, system testing, or customer acceptance testing.
Create and maintain technical documentation related to software design, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

What you'll need to get the job done

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
    • 5+ years of relevant software development experience, including hands-on experience with C++ in embedded, Linux-based, or device-focused environments.
    • Strong experience developing graphical user interfaces using Qt.
    • Experience working with Linux or Unix-based operating systems, preferably including software integration, debugging, and configuration.
    • Good understanding of software development practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, debugging, and technical documentation.
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary technical environment.

What will make us REALLY love you

    • Experience with modern C++ standards such as C++14, C++17, C++20, or newer.
    • Experience developing software for safety-critical, mission-critical, regulated, or high-reliability environments.
    • Familiarity with networked or communications systems, including protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, SNMP, or similar.
    • Experience with Qt/QML, Qt Widgets, model-view architecture, or cross-platform GUI development.
    • Experience with system integration, acceptance testing, troubleshooting, or deployment in lab or customer environments.
