Electrical Markets Division (EMD) Inside Sales Representative - Canada

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an EMD Sales Professional, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for driving sales growth in the electrical market across Canada focusing on a targeted list of channel accounts. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving profitable sales for the EMD business across Canada
  • Developing, implementing, and executing effective key account plans
  • Conducting joint business planning sessions with select partners to ensure we are aligned in our growth strategies
  • Facilitating customer business reviews on a regular basis to ensure we are on track to meet targets
  • Implementing promotions, and directives as set by division management
  • Collaborating across other regions and within other 3M Divisions to meet customer needs
  • Managing financial processes including management of customer incentive plans, and execution of market development funds
  • Elevating conflict/complaint resolution for relationship management as needed

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth within the assigned accounts from an inside sales position leveraging technology and digital assets to educate, inform, inspire and engage your assigned accounts to exceed targets for growth
  • Manage a complex customer relationship/model by understanding the customer’s business needs, working with key influencers in the organization, and enhancing the sales experience
  • Collaborate with the field sales team to ensure synergy in approach to customer across the country
  • Work to attain sales quota, sales quality, and sales productivity metrics
  • Identify market trends and account needs in order to react to market activity and reach favorable sales goals
  • Leverage Salesforce to report all activities, opportunities, and customer insights

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree (minimum 4-year degree) or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Two (2) years of sales experience, including developing and maintaining sales growth, seeking out new customers, and technical selling/providing product information in a private, public, government or military environment  

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

  • University Degree (Business or Marketing preferred)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is strongly preferred
  • Advanced selling skills, time and territory management
  • Strong active listening, oral and written skills
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage electrical products is preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Salesforce
