ENGINEER - INFRA OPS - DATA CENTER OPS - JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Engineer - Data Center Operations
1. Role Purpose (1–3 lines): Supports day-to-day data center operational tasks including monitoring, basic troubleshooting, hardware handling, and operational hygiene to ensure stable infrastructure availability. Executes operational runbooks, performs routine checks, and escalates issues timely for resolution.
2. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily DC floor checks, physical inspection, basic server/network hardware handling and routine operational hygiene activities.
• Support infrastructure monitoring, alert triage and L1 troubleshooting to ensure uptime and SLA adherence.
• Execute standard operating procedures, runbooks, backup/restore procedures, access control processes and maintenance activities.
• Maintain asset logs, incident records, change documentation and operational reporting.
• Coordinate with senior engineers during planned changes, maintenance windows and incident restoration.
• Ensure compliance to DC operational standards, safety, security, and audit guidelines.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Incident first response SLA adherence
• Accuracy and completeness of operational logs / documentation
• Monitoring alert handling accuracy ratio
• Audit/Compliance adherence scores (DC physical + process)
• Escalation quality (right routing / timeliness)
• Uptime contribution of DC infrastructure
• Leadership/Behavioral competencies: Quality of Work, External Focus, Ownership, Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Proactiveness, Collaboration, Expertise and Training & Development

5. Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree: Graduate / Technical Degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology.
• Years of experience: 3 to 5 years
• Relevant experience: (to be filled by CBTS)
6. Key Interfaces:
• Internal: Collaborates with DC Operations, Network Operations, Infra Ops L2/L3 teams, Security Ops, and Service Delivery teams for issue triage, log updates, operational coordination, and escalations.
• External: Coordinates with data center facility partners, hardware OEMs, support vendors, and maintenance service providers for ticket escalation, spares coordination, and onsite support enablement.
