Job Details
Individuals in the Infrastructure Engineering role are responsible for executing the strategy set by architecture. They are responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure and operations (Infrastructure), in accordance with security policies and guidelines. Infrastructure Engineers typically spans: server platforms, middleware infrastructure, networking, client technology and storage systems. Additional functions and processes include service and product management, performance and capacity management, patching and version management, and Level 3 operations support. Some individuals in this role design and build the systems operating environment to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver cloud based technology designs and solutions to enable large scale multi-cloud governance while advancing Cloud Engineering automation goals.
  • Establish standard and reusable cloud based application architectures that can consumed by the enterprise and various application teams
  • Build and maintain cross cloud resource visibility, oversight, and corporate policy automated enforcement solutions
  • Determine and establish best practices and standards normalized across all cloud providers
  • Enable resource provisioning automation at scale and drive the use of Cloud Engineering best practices
  • Focus on cost control strategies and driving cost and usage efficiency
  • Design and execute migrations for complex, multi-tier application to the public cloud
  • Manage and deploy cloud environments that meet or exceed our usage and security standards
  • Work in tandem with our application teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions
  • Build and maintain Cloud Engineering tool stack for the deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting for all of our environments
  • Build and design services for the cloud, along with implementing the set-up of geographically redundant services
  • Develop and deliver creative solutions that enable engineering teams
  • Build common tools and procedures to streamline and standardize development and deployment
  • Design, write and document scripted functionality to increase availability, scalability, efficiency and repeatability
  • Ensures adherence to the data protection plan and in case of natural disasters, hardware equipment failures, operating mistakes, computer attacks, etc.
  • Promotes Information Security Strategy Awareness across the enterprise and understands the enterprise's organizational structure and culture to best attain objectives and results
  • Supports end users and field engineers to remote troubleshooting in order to resolve software user issues or other IT issues
  • Supports the designing of data and infrastructure systems to adhere to best practices and security compliances
  • Collaborates across multiple teams to ensure successful delivery of results based on scope of work
  • Creates, maintains and communicate technical documentation and business summaries regularly
  • Provides time estimates, budget forecasting and project scopes for related projects
  • Identifies project risks and potential solutions with minimizing impact
  • Delivers automated setup practices and well defined SOPs focusing on full automation of the implementation process
  • Assumes responsibility for the designing, implementing and administering of new infrastructure services
  • Works with business partners to understand business needs and incorporate those into overall strategic planning

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience:
  • Typically requires 5-7 years of relevant technology work experience.
  • Relevant certification is required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products.

Skillsets & Knowledge:
  • Experience with general IT concepts beyond their primary discipline
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; effective team player
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize work load
  • Understanding of ITSM
