At HackerRank, we are on a mission to change the world to value skills over pedigree. We are a high-performing, mission-driven team that truly, madly, deeply cares about what we do. We don’t see velocity and quality as tradeoffs; both matter. If you take pride in high-impact work and thrive in a driven team, HackerRank is where you belong.

About the team:

The Integrations Team owns the pipelines that enable data to flow in and out of HackerRank, allowing customers to use HackerRank products from any third-party tool seamlessly. We meet the customers where they are - From Applicant Tracking Systems to communication tools such as Slack and Zoom. Integration is a critical part of the business, and is one of the many reasons why customers choose HackerRank. Making this seem simple to customers means abstracting away the complexities of making systems talk to each other in a scalable and resilient way, and that wouldn’t be possible without a team of skilled engineers.

About the role:

As an Engineering Manager within the Integrations Team, you will lead the technical vision and execution for our integrations. This role is pivotal in enabling seamless customer experiences by ensuring our products integrate smoothly with various third-party tools, including ATS, HRMS, and HRIS. You will drive the team's roadmap, mentor engineers, and foster a high-performing environment focused on delivering scalable and resilient integration solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute the product plans and manage delivery commitments.
  • Mentor the engineers in the team and help them deliver to the best of their abilities.
  • Set clear career paths for your team members and help every individual pursue their growth path.
  • Work very closely with the product team to develop and curate the product roadmap.
  • Own and drive the tech roadmap. Manage the day-to-day activities of the team within the Scrum framework.

You will thrive in this role if:

  • You excel at designing scalable platforms and ensuring that APIs and services are reusable, efficient, and maintainable across teams.
  • You are passionate about developer experience, creating intuitive, well-documented APIs and self-service tools that streamline development.
  • You have a track record of automating workflows reducing manual effort in API management, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.
  • You have worked with SQL and NoSQL databases, designing scalable data models, optimizing queries, and making informed trade-offs based on use cases.
  • You collaborate closely with developers & product teams, understanding their challenges and workflows to design solutions that integrate seamlessly.

What you bring:

  • 2+ years of engineering management, including hands-on technical management.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
  • 8+ years of experience in designing enterprise systems, building highly-available, scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, distributed systems.
  • Self driven, initiative taker with good communication skills, ability to hire, lead and mentor technical teams, meet deadlines, manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Technical expertise in NodeJS, Ruby, React, Lambda, micro-services, Authentication, Authorization etc.

Current base salary range: 200K - 230K. The exact salary may vary based on skills, experience, location, market ranges, and other compensation offered.
